Nostalgia - New Beginnings,

This week over on Lucky Snapping 2013 it is Kathi's turn to set a challenge and she has called it New Beginnings.  I love reading/listening to Kathi when she has one of her nostalgic moments, not just because she writes them so well but I envy her roots and the memories that she has of her childhood.  Mine are very different shall we say.  I was really struggling to come up with anything for this until I met up with a friend for a catch up and a cuppa.  That morning I had decided to cut down on my tea intake (way too high!!) so I had a hot chocolate instead.  Now up until last year I would never have dreamt of having a hot chocolate in the middle of the day - (as far as I was concerned it was a bedtime drink only) and not something you bought out!!!  Sometime last year, Bernadette Mick and myself went for a walk while she was home one weekend and ended up stopping for a cuppa at a place called Smugglers Cove.  It was very windy and cold and B decided to have a hot chocolate and I suddenly thought why not!!!  So I did and it took me straight back to my days at college in Broadstairs.  When four of us would head down to the little tea shop on a Saturday morning, with our college books, order hot chocolate and toasted teacakes.  We would spend the morning studying together, chatting and keeping warm because our accommodation was soooooo cold!!!  I now regularly have hot chocolate out with the addition of marshmallows and it always transports me back in time. It doesn't really fit into new beginnings but hey :)

Amanda and I went out for a hot choccy Christmas Eve.
