Bye bye 2015

So that is yet another year over, it seems to have gone very quick as always but I am sure if I take time to think about everything that has taken place over the last twelve months I would be surprised at how much I have managed to fit in, though in my mind I still feel I could have done more!!

So briefly the good points have been a new job, bike trip to Spain and France, both girls doing well at work and uni, B's new bf, continuing good health for all of us, Mick's new bike, rediscovering my love of yoga and walking,

The not so good points, my eldest brother passing away, tumbling off the motorbike, discovering I am a workoholic, not losing all the weight I had wanted to, not getting as fit as I wanted to, one of my best friends being diagnosed with breast cancer, not doing as much photography or any other craft as I would like to.  Though in the grand scale of things nothing too major thankfully.

Part of me says not to bother making any New Year Resolutions as I never managed to keep them or achieve them but it doesn't feel right not to make some - which is completely stupid I know but that is the way it is, guess I have grown up with making them, so it is habit and possibly the belief that one year I will actually stick to them and achieve them lol.

So if I was to make any they would be
Get fit,
Lose weight,
Travel more,
Job role change - yes after another one lol
Declutter - did do some last year but not as much as I would like
Sort the garden out
More photography
More crafting
More reading
More blogging

Instead I shall narrow it down to 'change, letting go and moving on' - I think that sums up everything in a nutshell - in my mind anyway. Actually all that is on the list is very achievable if I just stay focused and determined - well the job role might be slightly more challenging but en I like a challenge.

Pendower

Yesterday afternoon Mick, Amanda and I had a stroll along Pendower Beach to Carne Beach and back.  It was somewhat overcast and blowy but nevertheless it was lovely to hear the sound of the sea, I so love that sound.  I was surprised at how many people were down there, either walking or kite surfing, ideal weather for it I guess.

Christmas Eve & Christmas Day

Normally on Christmas Eve we go down to Mousehole to see the lights and then have Fish and Chips at the best chippy in the West but this year I was working until 5.15pm and B was spending part of the evening with her bf and his mum, so we decided to eat at home then go for a stroll round Mevagissey and have a drink.  Initially I was going to take the camera for some evening shots but then decided not to, due to it being rather windy and not wishing to bore the family too much ....... after all it was Christmas Eve!!  So a quick shot with my compact and off to the pub for a drink - though not for me as I have been on antibiotics since Wednesday for a gum abscess and no alcohol allowed. It has been very dry to say the least -  for me anyway lol!!

Christmas Day I dragged everyone out for a very blustery walk around The Nare - it was actually very enjoyable.  Rather choppy at sea though!

Hope you have all had a great time over the Christmas weekend.

Advent Day 22 & 23

Another must watch Christmas Movie :)

I had intended to make one of these but darling daughter used my bag of malteasers for her cake!
So I guess that means I shall just have to eat the chocolate orange as it is.......such a hardship lol

Cotehele Christmas Garland

Last Sunday Mick took me to Cotehele House to see the Christmas Garland, as it was such a lovely day we went on the bike.  I am glad we went but I was a little bit disappointed purely because of the size. I had expected it to be so much bigger.  Admittedly it is amazing 40,000 flower heads have been used and I believe it takes either two or three weeks to put together, so actually it is impressive! Lol. The chapel it is in is quite small as well.

It was a lovely day apart from having a little tumble off the bike on the way home. We had stopped at a junction which involved a hill start to set off, we stalled, over balance and toppled off!! Thankfully the bike has crash bars so that saved the bike as well as our legs, we both managed to land on our feet but as o came off my ankle dragged across something and I now have a rather colorful ankle!! I am just so glad I was wearing boots and padded leggings!!

Still it could have been a lot worse and it is the first time in 26yrs that he has thrown me off so I can't complain really lol

Advent Day 13

Last week I posted a photo of the Christmas tree in Truro and commented on how plain it looks this compared to previous years.  Last Wednesday evening some of us went into Truro to photograph the lights and late night shopping.  Here is the tree at night - looks better in real life than in the photo.  I didn't take my tripod so was testing out the camera on high iso - very high iso in order to get a reasonable fast shutter speed. I am fairly happy.

Advent Calender Day 5 & 6

Day 5 -  as well as loving the minions I also love the Moomins :)

Day 6 - Truro's Christmas Tree is looking a little different this year, not sure I like it!

First time I have managed to see this telephone box in Truro not hidden by taxi's :) the other side of it is an old fashion post box as well.

Had a lovely day, started off with a wet five mile walk then into town to meet up with Bernadette, breakfast then Christmas shopping, now home with sore feet lol but the shopping is well and truly started so very pleased.
