Advent Calender Day 5 & 6

Day 5 -  as well as loving the minions I also love the Moomins :)

Day 6 - Truro's Christmas Tree is looking a little different this year, not sure I like it!

First time I have managed to see this telephone box in Truro not hidden by taxi's :) the other side of it is an old fashion post box as well.

Had a lovely day, started off with a wet five mile walk then into town to meet up with Bernadette, breakfast then Christmas shopping, now home with sore feet lol but the shopping is well and truly started so very pleased.

Grampound and Creed

We took a walk from Grampound and Creed to see if we could connect the footpath we were on yesterday to this one to make it a loop, but we couldn't. I also wanted to retake the church photo with my big camera but the light although lovely and sunny was not suitable for what I wanted.  The sun was casting too much shadow, still I will try another day.  We ended up walking through some partially wooded area which was nice but not too inspiring.  Still I managed a couple of photos.
Found this wood craving in amongst the bushes, around the top it says "look around to see how farmers improve the river" and then there are different pictures carved in the wood, it is very well done.

Thought I would have a go at some 'intentional camera movement' - not necessarily a style I could get into but do like some images I have seen that are well done - unlike this one lol

and of course there just happens to be a telephone box in Grampound so I had to snap it - well it would be rude not to. :)

Mevagissey

We took a stroll around Mevagissey yesterday afternoon.  It was lovely to see people out and about enjoying themselves, even a group of youngest jumping off the harbour wall, so lovely to see them out in the fresh air having fun, even if part of me thought they them mad very brave for going in the water this time of year (some in bikini's!!!!) either way, much better than being stuck behind a screen or on a corner somewhere.

And of course a telephone box find :)

The Valentine's Day storm

In a previous post I mentioned that we had gone down to Portholland around 4pm on Friday to see the waves coming in.  This was the first time I have been out to see the storms that have battered Cornwall over recent weeks, I really regret not going out before now.  I was stood on the cliff top looking down on Portholland.  I felt so sorry for those that live there, it must have been very frightening to have those waves crashing against your windows.  A few weeks back a car was washed out to sea here, thankfully the driver managed to get out.  If you look closely you can even see one of my red telephone boxes in there lol

They aren't great quality images but the wind was so strong I am surprised I got anything, plus the light was fading fast.
