Up Close round up

So here we have it, a round up of this week's 'up close' photos, some guessed not all.

Day 1. Well no one got this one and guess I was a little mean with it.  It is lengths of flexible potting moulds.  Basically you cut it to the size pot you want and then plant the plant in it and into the ground.  The nodules on the sides have little holes in them that allow the roots to grow out and not become pot bound but keeps the main root together.  Used a lot at the Eden Project. 

Day 2.  Everyone guessed this one, vertical blinds.

 

Day 3.   Desk top lamp - guessed by some I believe. :)

Day 6. The 2nd one that got everyone and in fairness I would say unless you have one or know someone close who has one you would not of guessed it. 

 

This is my little secret that sometimes I am happy to share it with the world then other times I am very shy/embarrassed about and not so happy to share :(  It took me quite a while to come to terms with wearing a hearing aid and thankfully with my hair no one can see it.  It comes into it's own sometimes at work when dealing with someone who has them but doesn't wear them and starts saying "you have no idea what it is like" then I can say "actually I do!!!" I totally understand the isolation caused by not be able to hear what is being said, one of the reasons I don't watch TV is because - prior to 'being wired for sound' (as I call it) I couldn't hear what was being said so gave up and now I really don't have much interest in it, though I do watch some things, but I haven't seen it at all whilst Mick has been away lol.  So there you go - you all know my little secret - well that one anyway ;)

 

 

 

 

Then today's mystery photo, even I am not sure what it is, we think it is a jelly fish as there are a lot of big one's around at the mo.

Day 6 of Up Close

I have sat here for most of the evening going through photos trying to come up with something DIFFICULT for today's up close (I am such a meanie lol) then  just as I was about to give up I think I found it, not the greatest of photos but hey it is rather late and the light isn't great now.  So who can work this out. 

 I am so chuffed with this that I just know someone is going to guess it straight away and pop my bubble - and don't you just hate it when that happens.

 

Mick has landed back in England but stayed in Andover last night and will travel home this morning, just in time for his dad's birthday tomorrow.  He missed it a few years back as he went off to Scotland on the bike with some friends - he hasn't been allowed to forget it lol.  Even worse was the fact that his brother and sister in law put on a family party for him, to which I took the girls and had to listen to how Mick had gone off biking instead of cancelling the trip etc etc, then in my rush to get home and get the girls to bed and lock the world outside I managed to get myself a speeding ticket.  When the letter came through the letterbox I was jumping for joy and laughing as it was Mick's car, it wasn't until the penny dropped that I had been driving the car and he was in Scotland and it was me not him that the jumping and laughing stopped and turned to annoyance!!!!  Surprisingly I have never been allowed to live that one down either lol.  So fingers crossed this birthday weekend will go much smoother!!!

I often look at the photo scavenger hunt's that take place of different blogs but have not yet taken part until today, I decided I would make the effort and have a go.  So I am joining in with this one 

 

 

 

and here is my first photo - # 2 on the list, a garden gnome - though ours is a dog gnome!!!  Have to be different lol.  He came from my mil and sits at the front of the border that runs down the side of the garden.

Up close Day 4

After being cooped up in a classroom on a beautiful day like today covering legislation, policies and procedures it was a relief to be let loose at 3.30pm.  So glad I don't work in an office, though after my meeting with my Area Manager tomorrow re my future and future changes within our department - yet again - that may all change within the next twelve months, shall have to wait and see what she is thinking of tomorrow. So watch this space.

 

So onto day four of up close, day three was posted this morning here, yesterday was obviously too easy as everyone guessed it - yes vertical blinds.  Day one still needs to be guessed :)  So today's is this, not too difficult really!

Day 2 of up close.

Has anyone got any experience with drop box?  I have downloaded it this evening and now find that I cannot upload my photos with out them going to drop box and they can't upload them due to the amount, so I have now had to uninstall drop box and everything is fine again!!!  Surely that isn't right?  Any ideas anyone?
