First Week Gone

Well that is it we are truly into the new year now with the first week gone.  So many people have said to me 'it has flown by' and I feel happy to say no this week hasn't, I actually feel like I have been present in each day, if that makes sense!  It has been a good week, yes busy and tiring.  There have been dramas at work - that I really struggle to deal with, I tend to just walk away and let them get on with it (I don't do drama's!!).  Plus, I have decided to come off Face book for a while, I have been losing interest in it for some time and tend to use it mainly for chatting to people but I am sure there are others ways to communicate - like the phone, or even the old fashioned way of face to face!!!!!  Now that is scary lol.  It feels a bit odd at the moment as I keep having the urge to peek on there but sure that will fade very soon.  I have also removed messenger from my phone!!
I have managed to get out walking three times this week, so very pleased with that and it was a big 5.3miles this morning - admittedly not that great a distance but it is the longest I have done for some time, the hip and ankle are making small grumblings but they will have to put up with it.  I am also back into doing some regular yoga and started meditating and it is all feeling good, hope I can keep it up.

As I haven't been near my camera this week I was looking for an image on the internet with some meaningful quote to post but I couldn't find one that felt right so instead I have settle for this image of mine and put on there what I am feeling right now.

January gone....

So January has gone for another year, I automatically go to say - "where did it go" "hasn't it flown", but I have stopped myself this time and really don't feel I can say that as it doesn't feel that way this time - why I'm not sure - maybe it is due to the fact that I think I have slowed down abit this month even though I have had things planned for nearly all my days off so I have still been on the go, but I am certainly aware that I have sat down more as I have been reading more and writing more - something I am really enjoying again.  In fact it takes me back to my teenage years when I was always reading or writing letters, essays or my diary.

A fair bit of the reading and writing has been proof reading and writing ideas for B's training contract applications!!!  Some of these questions make me laugh, they are asking a 20yr for their greatest achievement in life and how that achievement has effected their life and those around them, she is 20 and hasn't really started to live her life being in education for the last 15yrs!! Thankfully she hasn't had to experience any great trauma's in her short life, (totally aware of death and dead bodies and fine with that - just something I don't think children should be shielded from and haven't done with mine) plus she hasn't had the opportunity to really take on any great personal challenges like backpacking the world on her own, or going off and doing voluntary work aboard, though I know some of her friends took a gap year and did it, she chose to go straight to uni (it was at the time of the fee increase as well, which had a big influence on her decision).  Though I think this was the toughest "What qualities does an commercial organisation need to have in order to be successful today? Please use an organisation you admire as an example"  Admittedly that one I handed straight back to her as I hadn't a clue, thankfully as she has worked for Holister (Abercrombie and Fitch) for the last three years she was able to compare - though comparing a law firm with a 18-25yrs old clothes shop.......!!!!  but I have to say the response she came up with I thought was excellent. In fact I have been impressed with her determination to complete these questions, she has written and rewritten her responses so many times until she has been totally happy with them and each time  they have improved and shown the depth of her research into her answers (admittedly some of it has gone way over my head - especially when she and Mick started on about global business!!!!  Time to put the kettle on for me lol.

Anyway I am really glad to say they have all now been sent off, she has completed her quick reasoning writing that they have to do once the application is received, if she has got through that stage then they will read her application, if they like it they will invite her for an interview.  If the don't ............................  it doesn't bare thinking about :(

So in January I have managed to keep up my daily photo (which can be seen here)  and tried some new recipes, stuffed peppers and vegetable lasagne.  Not managed to take part in the Lucky 7's challenges but intend to do better during February.

A new month

Well I'm not the only one thinking 'where did January go', not long til Christmas now I guess lol (who's groaning and cursing me now eh?)  So what happened in January, ..... our Amanda turned 17, had knee surgery, got her driving licence and wait for it had her first lesson with Mick Monday evening, she really loved it and did well apparently.  Bernadette has gone back and been home for a weekend and will be home again on the 15th for a few days.  It is during half term, so Mick and I have taken a couple of days off work as well, so we will get a couple of family days out :).  Mick finally shaved his beard off ....whippee.... and once again resembles my husband, which makes me a very happy teddy.  As for me - I have kept up with my 366 project, some days better than others, still enjoying it though. I haven't really been managing my time very well, still spend too much time on here and thinking about things.  Though I did start sorting out my craft room and have decided to sell a lot of my bits as I never use them, so someone else may as well have them and put them to good use.   I haven't done much blogging this month which is not so good, so I need to improve on that as well.
Here are some photos from January, these have been part of my 366 project.

Sat in the car whilst in between calls at work, it was raining for a change so I decided to play with shutter speeds and passing traffic!

Here we ago again with numerous sets of L plates that DO NOT stay attached to the car when moving.  Bring back the old tie on ones.

A trip to the Eden Project with Yvonne last Friday, can't wait to see these bulbs in flower.

Struggled this day, but Lord of the Rings came to my rescue.
