In Between time

Hope you all had a lovely Christmas Day and Boxing Day, ours was spent at home with family, chilling, eating and the odd glass of alcohol!! Very enjoyable but so glad to get out today. Didn't manage our walk on Christmas Day due to Mick having a bad foot and we didn't want to abandoned him at home alone.
So here we are in what I call limbo time - well that is the way this week always feels to me, it is a bit like the period between a death and the funeral (sorry if that sounds morbid) but I always feel like you can't start to move on until New Year's Day has come and gone, hence my comparison!
Anyway I have decided to use this year's limbo time to set some plans/goals for next year - then reduce the list by 75%  as I always over load myself and achieve very little, also to sort out my hard drive of photos ready for a new year, clear out my in boxes, flickr account and fb account as well as reflecting on what I have been up to this year.  That list should take me nicely into 2014!!

One of my craft achievements for 2013 -
A few weeks/months ago I posted a snippet shot of some knitting I had been doing here and here

Well both items are finished and given to their recipients.  A blanket for each daughter, Amanda's (the yellow one) only took me 15 months to complete  and I cheated and didn't do the full length. Have to admit it was a wonderful feeling to see their faces when they realised what they were, think they thought I had forgotten about them lol.

  1. The blankets look amazing Karen, well done. I completely GET your reference to limbo time, but I dont suffer from it any more, I think why wait until 1st Jan, and get started on things straight away, most especially the diet and exercise regime.
Hope you all have a very happy new year,
    Joy x x x

  2. I know exactly what you mean about 'limbo time', I feel just the same and like you I also get over ambitious about planning and what I can realistically achieve! Look forward to reading about your aims for next year.

  6. Lovely blankets Karen and quite an accomplishment. I'm afraid I would have never gotten them finished. I'm glad you had a nice Christmas. I understand your reference on the limbo time but since I retired, I don't seem to worry about that anymore. I just take each day as it comes and enjoy life. Have a wonderful new year! xx
