A layout at last..

December 2010 was my mother in law's 70th birthday, so I decided we should hold a party for her and invite the family.  Everyone chipped in with the food preps, from cooking meat to making desserts and Bernadette made and decorated the cake.  Nothing means more to Nancy than having all her family around her and that is exactly what she had and thoroughly enjoyed the day.  Anyway I finally finished the book and they popped in yesterday so I gave it go her and she was delighted with it - thankfully.

It is a very simple book, 6x6 and just contains photos that the family took on the day,  think I managed about three!!  No journalling other than the titles as I didn't feel it needed any more. Plus I know her and John will sit down and reminisce about the day with the book during many an evening to come.   I realise now I have forgotten to photograph the covers!!  Hey ho, never mind.

The boost to get on and finish this book was from The Happy Scrappers monthly challenge - so a big thank you to Lesley and Shaz for the kick up the backside :)

Think this is a first for me as well, showing a scrapbooking page as I am not a confident scrapper - not a confident anything actually!!

Scrapping

A few years ago I use to be an avid scrapbooking (that is how I met Yvonne and Kathi ) but over the last couple of years my interest has dropped off mainly due to my interest in photography taking over.  I still have hoards of stash and swear I will use it one day!!  Anyway this week I have been clearing out my craftroom as I literally could not get to the desk for stuff dumped on it.  Underneath it all was two mini books I started for two different occasions and today I am very chuffed to say I have finished one da da, I can't show it yet as it is a gift for someone who looks at my blog every now and then.  I just need to bind it then can hand it over, then I will show photos.  The reason for my sudden scrapping afternoon was prompted by the new challenge blog 'The Happy Scrappers' my friend Lesley has set up, it is one layout  month - even I should be able to do that  and after all it is a challenge how could I resist that!!

So in the meantime thought I would share my lastest cd purchase that I just can't get enough of - it is such a brilliant album.

I have only just taken to James Blunt, it was his track 'Stay the Night' that caught my interest and the rest is history, totally hooked. Just need to find concert tickets now :)
