MERRY CHRSITMAS

Well my two not so little any more cherubs arrived home last night and a bomb exploded in the house - funny but it brought a sense of comfort and homeliness back to the place, the norm has returned.  I have one last shift to do today and then that is it until Sat, looking forward to spending some time with them.

I started this post yesterday but never got it posted so now it is today - Christmas Eve the washing machine is not a happy machine as it is now having to do some work over Christmas and is threatening talks with the break down union - I am having to use all my negotiation skills to keep it happy!!!  Wish me luck.

Right, nothing left to say other than I  hope you all have a lovely day tomorrow and Boxing Day, don't drink too much or eat too much but if you can't promise that then I suggest you eat as much as you like and drink as much as you like and then we can all encourage and support each other in the New Year as we tackle the weight and alcohol issues together lol. xxxx

PS - whilst we are all enjoying our family, food and drink - lets all spare a moment to think of those who have no family, food or drink and be thankful for how lucky we are. xx

Lack of Christmas Spirit

Only four sleeps left until it will all be over again for another year.  I have really struggled to get any Christmas feeling in me this year more so than previous years, not sure if it is because I am getting older and no small children around or is it that I am just so busy in my own life (like everyone else) and can't find the time to put to it or is it a deep yearning to go back to when it wasn't all so commercialised and all about money and food - the argument there could be it is up to the individual as to how far they want to be swept up with that side of it, maybe it is the knowledge that for a huge number of people this is no fun time of the year.  I just feel that I am going through the motions to be honest!

When shopping Friday morning the friendly shop assistant chatted the whole time whilst serving me which was nice (apart from me not feeling too great and wanting to be home!) but as I left I said my usual thank you and then added "Merry Christmas" and she stopped and looked at me bewildered and then said "Oh yes, thank you and you".  It did make me smile as I thought she either thought I was odd or she had forgotten what time of year it is as well, lol.  As I went around town I can't say I noticed any feeling of Christmas cheer, spirit or anything - just people going about their daily lives carrying shopping bags and generally not looking that happy - probably just like I was lol.  I have now found myself saying, "you need young children around to really enjoy Christmas" but I am not sure I really believe that any more.  The part I do enjoy at Christmas is the present buying and giving as I love giving gifts to others and I do use Christmas as a time when I can do it without having to justify it - should I need a reason to justify giving someone a gift because I feel like it??  Maybe I should do more ROK's in 2015 and just say "I did it because.."
Anyway whatever the reason is for my lack of Christmas cheer it won't stop me from wishing everyone a very Happy Christmas and I really hope 2015 turns out to be a great one for everyone.

Christmas celebrations

Saturday night saw my one and only Christmas party for this year come and go and my feet and hips are still complaining about the amount of dancing I did lol, not quite sure what got into me - and no I was not drunk, but after the food I don't think I sat down once!!!!  No idea what the music was but I can safely say my dance moves have now moved into the 21st century!!  I did ask the DJ for some 80's music and he said "absolutely love"  three songs later he played Madonna - Strike the Pose!!!!  hardly a dance tune!! hey ho.  I still enjoyed it but wondering if the old body is getting a bit old for these kind of nights???  Though wouldn't mind trying a few more before I fully decide on that one lol

Yesterday we went to a Christmas carol concert in Bodmin, which was lovely, never get Mick to go to these normally, but he did this time, the church was beautifully decorated with charity Christmas trees.

My only complaint of the whole thing was when we came to sing While Shepherds Watch their flock...  they did it to a Cornish tune which Mick and I have never heard and had no idea and couldn't even pick it up so I found myself fighting a tantrum inside as I wanted to sing along but couldn't and was really incensed about it so sulked lol just like a spoilt child!!!  More annoying for me was that Yvonne and Alan were behind us and they knew it :( boo hoo. lol (such a child!!)

Well yet another full week ahead, so best get on, our girlies will be home a week today so have to get things sorted by then. xx
