Weekly photo - animals

Animals one of my favourite subjects to photograph but unfortunately I haven't seen many this week other than a few cows that wandered into the field behind us hence they are my subject for this week's photo.

Sooo adorable...

Spent a wonderful time during half term photographing all sorts, finally getting around to going through the images and thought I would show you some.  The first is of a minature Shetland Pony colt, (can't remember how old this one is but not very old).  They are so tiny and adorable, very friendly and curious - they found my camera bag very edible!! 

I put the next one in to try and show their size, not the most flattering photo of Amanda but she was in her element so we don't worry about things like bra straps!!!

This is a very rare breed of goat, but unfortunately I can't remember what they are called.  Very impressive looking though, I just liked this one as he was getting closer and closer and I was wondering if I should stand up or stay sitting as I was.  Thankfully he didn't attack me :)

The next one I couldn't resist showing you.  A friend has some pigs and said about photographing them, they weren't the most co-operative I have to say, but the antics with the horses in the field next to them was hilarious.  The horse kept biting the pigs tail and would lift the pig up by it's tail, lots of squealing from the pig until the horse let go. The owner didn't know about this little game until I mentioned it!! OOps, she laughed as much as I did.

Christmas only 14 weeks away!!


34)  This week I have been working on a christmas card collection for the shop. The main subject being two shetland ponies that belong to a friend. During the snow in Feb she asked me if I would photograph them. Here is one of Shaggy who, as you can see, is a real poser.

Whilst away Kathie has set me a blog challenge - to publish the fourth photo in the fourth file where I keep my photos and write abit about it. So here goes.

Whilst I was away Kathie set me a blog challenge, to publish the fourth photo in the fourth file (photo storage) and write about it. Well here it is!!! During February half term whilst the girls were in Austria skiing (or breaking ankles as it turned out) Mick and I took the opportunity and went up to Devon for a few days. On the way back we stopped at Buckfastleigh Abbey and whilst walking around the gardens we spotted frogs in a pond. So that was it for the next hour me taking piccies of frogs - there must have been around 50 in this one little pond - hence they had to get abit close to each other!! It isn't a brilliant photo as it was so dark there. 28)

20) This is Valentino, who belongs to friends of mine who run Humfreys Farm Shop. They assure me that he is a very soft and friendly bull. I do believe them, though I only stayed in the same field as him long enough to gain this shot - and very glad I did as he has proved to be very popular.

Every year we have at least two baby bunnies in the garden, every year we name them Peter (very original!) we refer to them as our lawn mowers. This photo was taken via the lounge window as they are so shy if you go out there.
