Monthly View & Lucky Snapping

Over on Lucky Snapping 2013 this week's theme is the monthly view.  I have been doing a monthly view for a couple of years now, so thought I might as well join in and have started the kitchen window view by mistake really.  I was going to stick with my original view but have found myself taking a couple of photos from the kitchen window recently so thought - why not do this as well!!

So a month late - but who cares, here is January's view - taken on the 29th Jan, raining for a change!!

Taken this morning after the first hail storm, think that is as white as we are going to see it this year!

I haven't taken my other view yet, so will post that during the week.

Nothing to do with challenges but Nathalie did a layout of all the books she had read in 2012.  I really like the layout and the idea of it, but it made me realise that I don't read any more, I always use the excuse that if I start then the world has to stop whilst I sink deeper and deeper into the story til I get to the end then life can resume normality!!  My amazing lack of self discipline does not allow me to put the book down literally!!!  Anyway I decided that I really do need to start again having encouraged the girls to read lots and being nicknamed 'bookworm' by my brother as a teenager, and also because I actually enjoy it and miss it. So I searched through the girls books and picked this one out.  I have read a number of Sophie Kinsella's before and enjoy the lightheartedness of them.  It wasn't bad, not the best of her's I have read, times alittle boring and a very predictable ending, but a happy read.  Now to chose my next one.

  1. We had a little more white than you today, full blizzard and a couple of inches of snow! I tend to read Sophie Kinsella when I don't want to have to think! I read in bed but don't read the way I used to either. Can't remember the last time I had a book so good I couldn't put it down.

Great view, is it a farm opposite? We had big flakes of snow this afternoon but luckily it didnt settle for long.

    1. Hi Helen, no it is the local primary school opposite where I use to work, they cut down all the trees last year so now we can see it :( but it is only the car park so not so bad. x

  4. Wow a hail storm! That could ruin all your plants and flowers growing outside. I agree about this book - I read it some time ago as well as all the other books by the same author I could get. I could take photos of every book I read and then do layouts - I think it is a brilliant idea (I read about 80 books last year).

    2. Since I have been recording my reading on scrapbook pages for the past three years, I have found that 12/13 was about my max for the year too :)

  6. I also like Sophie Kinsella's style of writing, although at the moment I am hooked on Sudoku and can't settle to a book.

  8. You have an interesting view from your kitchen window. Wish I could say the same but mine basically faces the outside of our shed. I like your pictures.

  12. Hello, I must apologise at being so late to comment and thank you so much for joining in my challenge. I really felt quite awful and couldn't really think straight.

I love the view, it must be great looking out at that whilst in the kitchen :)

I have also started going back to reading proper books, Pratchett, JoJo Moyes and the new Jo Rowling so far, so I am pleased with that. Good Luck xxx
