Well two days on the trot I have been running with my running partner - Nina and today we actually managed 3.5miles, so as you can image we are very pleased with ourselves.  It definitely helps to run with someone else to keep me going and as we go at 8.20am which is the start of the school run time we find that helps us as well, I mean you can't be seen walking too often in front of the children

Whilst in Wales we came across this old AA phone box - can't remember the last time I saw one of these, not sure if it still works as we are not AA members.  If  I'm right, once you join the AA then you were given a key and if you broke down the key would give you access to the phone inside to call for help.  I think the RAC use to do them also, well I remembe dad having an RAC key!!

Last week the theme was  a flash be it a built in one or external.  I opted for built in as I didn't really have any opportunities to use the external one.    This holly was in a shady patch down the side of a bridge, the silver bits were actually on the leaves and not caused by the flash.  Louise's photo is here and Sam's is here .  Sport is this week's theme hmmm!!

This week we were playing with creating 'bokeh' (The term bokashi (暈かし) is related, meaning intentional blurring or gradation).  I've come up with three images, the first one was taken in the garden this morning, after the night's rain and before the daytime down pour started!!  By using a large aperture and focusing on the flower it has thrown the background out creating 'bokeh' circles. Indoor photography ... hmm and arred about this one for ages and really couldn't get overly inspired - maybe because nothing much has been happening indoors this week to take photos of or what I don't know, so I have found myself struggling and in the end came up with these two...  First up is the face of our clock, taken at 3pm using a shutter speed of 1/40, f2.8, ISO 250, shade WB and 90mm

Having gone up in the cable car in Funchal we had a stroll and upon turning a corner we were greeted by this amazing display of colour overhanging our heads.  They look like pieces of paper concertinaed and then tied in the middle, then attached to the wires over head.  There were various colours adorning the streets, alleyways and  up the steps that led to the church.  Such an amazing sight.

Wildlife Taken in Funchal, Madeira.  Lizards everywhere, this one was peeking his head out of  the stones in a wall. I love these little guys they remind me of my childhood - playing with newts in the garden pond!!  There is a connection honest! Low lightThese were taken as we left Santa Cruz, Tenerife. I'm fairly pleased with these considering I was on a moving boat - albeit a big boat.
